DESCRIPTION:November is National Adoption Month\, and Gene & Georgetti (500 N Franklin St. downtown; and 9241 W Higgins Rd. in Rosemont)\, continues its support of local nonprofit Hephzibah Children’s Association by donating a portion of proceeds from dessert sales all month long. \nFunding helps the Hephzibah’s Group Homes in its mission to provide a warm and nurturing environment for children who have been traumatized by abuse\, neglect\, multiple foster care placements or failed adoptions. Their family based services renew and strengthen family bonds and their foster care services create new\, loving and secure family ties. Hephzibah’s day care program offers an award winning educational experience for children in the community- regardless of their family’s ability to pay. \nIn addition to the November campaign\, Gene & Georgetti will host a private holiday party for the children featuring fun activities\, good eats and treats. \n“Our family knows first hand the joys of adoption and the importance of supporting children in need of love and care. We’re proud to kick-off our fourth year of raising both awareness and funds for Hephzibah Children’s Association during November\,” says the Durpetti Family\, Gene & Georgetti’s owners. \nGuests to both Chicago and Rosemont locations can enjoy signature Gene & Georgetti favorites like Tiramisu\, Spumoni\, Chocolate Tuxedo Mousse Cake and their famous Italian Lemon Crème Layer Cake.

DESCRIPTION:Attend an informational session to learn about foster and adoption opportunities for teens. Hephzibah has teamed up with 10 private agencies to form a coalition that focuses on recruiting new foster families. Tickets are free\, but due to limited space\, reservations are suggested. To RSVP\, visit: illinoiscap.org/event/foster-our-teens \nThis program showcases some amazing teen speakers who will share their foster care journeys. You’ll also get an overview of the foster care license process and the adoption from foster care process. Agency representatives will be there to answer questions. \nThe Call to Action: Foster Our Youth! Coalition is sponsoring the event in partnership with the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services\, Pride Action Tank\, Windy City Media and the Illinois Center for Adoption and Permanency.
