The development department has an opening for a full-time Community Relations manager responsible for planning, coordinating, implementing community engagement activities and expanding community support. As a member of the development team, this staff member will serve as a community ambassador for the agency while also creating opportunities for individual, group and corporate engagement opportunities which will further the mission of the organization and cultivate positive donor relations.
Requirements include:
- Requires bachelor’s degree in non-profit management, communications, community relations, or related field. A minimum of 2 years of proven success in non-profit work desired.
- Knowledgeable about community resources in Oak Park/River Forest and greater Chicago area.
- Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel and Power Point). Prior experience with Raiser’s Edge or similar database preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a variety of individuals/groups including staff, volunteers, board members, community and corporate contacts, grant /funding partners, oversight agencies and the public.
- Requires strategic project management skills, continual attention to detail, ability to manage multiple tasks and demands, effectively meet deadlines and the ability to work well under pressure.
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills, strong leadership skills, good judgment and decision-making skills, high ethical standards and strong operational focus.
- Willing to work flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours.
