Position available for an experienced Financial Accounting Manager to join the Finance team and play a crucial role in maintaining the financial health of the agency by overseeing and managing various accounting functions including the supervision of 2-3 staff. The position is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing strategic financial guidance to support our mission.
Other responsibilities include journal entry preparation and review, payroll review, financial reporting, forecasting financial performance, assisting with annual budget, compliance with relevant accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and grant agreements. Will assist in various aspects of the audit. Establish and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure the integrity of financial information. Conduct internal audits, as necessary.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA certification preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years accounting experience, with a focus on non-profit accounting desired.
- Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), financial reporting, payroll, and compliance requirements for non-profit organizations.
- Experience in grant accounting a plus.
- Excellent analytical, organization, and communication skills & proficiency in using accounting software.
- Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities.
