“We knew becoming a foster family to a teenager would bring challenges. Our first few days were a little tense. We were confident though, with all the assistance we got from Hephzibah, we’d figure it all out—and we were right,” wrote Tiffany Jackson in a recent email. “Together, as a family, we’ve shared expectations, developed some routines and have been feeling united. What we’re especially pleased about is that we feel like a whole family, not a family with a plus one. Thank you for being the catalyst and support behind one of the most important things we’ve ever done.”
For the Jacksons and each foster family we work with in our foster care program, we provide parent training, mentoring, therapy, support groups, a 24-hour crisis hotline and other tools they need to help the child heal and thrive, as well as ensure a happy home for the entire family.
This year, Hephzibah’s foster care team cared for more than 80 families and 121 children, a 16% increase from the previous year.
