The 2021 Heart of Gold Ball Will be Virtual Fun for the Whole Family

Have you been looking for new, covid-safe things you can do with your friends and family lately?

The 2021 Virtual Heart of Gold Ball will be different this year as we celebrate “At Home Together,” but it promises to be a joyous evening of games, laughter, and community that will be fun (and even educational) for the whole family.

heart of gold 2020The Heart of Gold Ball is our largest fundraiser of the year. If you’ve attended a past gala, you know that this event is traditionally out-of-the-box, over-the-top, and unexpectedly fun. This year’s event will continue that tradition with: a virtual cocktail hour in which you can move from “table” to “table” to socialize with friends, old and new; a live and silent auction; raffle, interactive games; and more.

This year’s gala will be extra-celebratory as we honor the hard work and accomplishments of our organization – which has met the challenges posed by the pandemic by successfully pivoting to meet the needs of more families and children than ever before in our 124-year history.

An upside of having the gala virtually is that you can extend an invitation to this free event to friends and family anywhere, so please feel free to spread the word to everyone you know.

Last year’s gala raised more than $335,000 to benefit vulnerable children and families served by Hephzibah. This year, we’re dreaming big and setting our sights on breaking that record. Although attendance is free, there will be silent and live auction itemsa raffle with a $2,021 cash prize, and opportunities to donate.

What you can expect from this year’s event:

The event begins at 6 p.m. in a virtual banquet hall where you can enjoy your beverage of choice while socializing with other Hephzibah supporters… and all the friends and family you invite to share the evening with you. (We recommend you use a computer or smart tv for this part of the event).

Dinner comes next. We will not be providing food for the event, but we hope you’ll consider ordering a special meal package from Paramount Events. Jody Fyfe, owner and CEO of Paramount, is a longtime friend and sponsor of Hephzibah and will have several delicious options available for delivery the evening of the gala.

The main program for the evening will be on Youtube Live and will include:

  • engaging stories and updates from our Executive Director, Merry Beth Sheets
  • our 2021 Heart of the Home and Heart of Gold Award presentations
  • a live auction with some great packages
  • fun, interactive games that will be sure to get you giggling!

You’ll be able to interact with the other people attending the event, it’s sure to be a blast!
