Happy Halloween from Hephzibah!!! The Oak Park community showed up in force on October 26th in Maple Park to support the Oak Park Auxiliary’s HephziBOO! Dash. The kids (and even the adults) had a TON of fun!The weather was incredible, a positively balmy 59° and sunny. We warmed up monster-style to stay safe; the cool fall breeze was perfect for our runners (and walkers). Proceeds from the event went towards keeping our world-class Hephzibah after-school and summer programs unwavering and accessible to all, and we raised:
$13,651
for affordable after-school and summer care!!
That’s a record-breaking Halloween Fundraiser for our Oak Park Auxiliary! Participants committed HARD to dressing up, donating and volunteering their time, talents, and cash, all of which contributed to everyone’s high spirits. Kids and families from all eight of Oak Park’s District 97 Elementary schools competed to see which school would have the most attendees, and Whittier Elementary ended up winning a pizza party for their after-school kids! We embraced our childlike wonder and created a safe, fun space for families and kids to create memories together despite all adversity. At the end of the day, that’s why we do what we do, and we can’t thank our sponsors, staff, and attendees enough for partnering with us to make that possible. Be sure to catch next year’s event…before it catches you!!
