Angelica Dreams of Helping Kids

Jun 30, 2015

angelicaWhen Angelica arrived at Hephzibah’s group home at age 7, she says it was a turning point in her life. She had been in foster care since she was 11 months old. Through Hephzibah, Angelica was fostered and eventually adopted by a loving family.

Angelica plans to attend Concordia University in River Forest, IL, this fall to study social work and become an advocate for other foster children.  Because of Angelica’s hard work and determination, much of her costs are covered by scholarships, financial aid, and money she earned working. She is looking for help to cover the final portion of her expenses.

This young woman has already beaten the odds; half of the kids who have been in foster care do not graduate from high school, and only around 10% graduate with a bachelor’s degree. Angelica’s inspiring story shows what a difference it makes when a child connects with people who care.  To learn more details in her own words, please visit her Go Fund Me page.
