Each year, we gather thousands of back-to-school items from big-hearted donors to help the families we serve return to school. These donations, together with help from dozens of volunteers, help prepare families struggling to afford back-to-school costs that rise each year.
We would like to send a very heartfelt THANK YOU to all of the wonderful individuals, corporate sponsors and community partners who contributed supplies, volunteer time, and the space for our annual back-to-school event.
Families and caregivers were invited to “shop” at the event, held at Calvary Memorial Church, where every single item was free. Generous donors gave supplies, backpacks, locks for lockers, winter coats and so much more! At this year’s event, 45 families and 114 children visited our event to collect everything they needed for a successful school year. They were also treated to a delicious meal courtesy of our Family Based Services staff which included our Foster Care and Intact Family Services team members. Hundreds more children will also benefit from the remaining supplies which will be delivered by caseworkers.
We are so grateful for the support of our sponsors and community partners including Calvary Memorial Church, Capstone Financial Advisors, Jackson National, Fair Oaks Presbyterian Church, J.A. Watts Incorporated and The Lovey Project. We would also like to thank our team of dedicated Hephzibah volunteers for their efforts to help us send children in need back-to-school fully prepared. Together, we can make a difference in a child’s life!
