When kids arrive at the doors of Hephzibah Home deeply wounded, neglected, or traumatized, they come with deeply internalized beliefs like “I’m a burden to others,” or “I’m not deserving of love.” We rely on your help as we untangle those beliefs for every child, and show them a safe, joyful, and supportive community.
Every year, the children living at Hephzibah Home work on community service projects of their own volition, inspired by your generosity and guided by our staff. They write thank-you’s to the local hospital, police station, and lifeguards at the community pool. They also provide essentials for the unhoused in the area: kits with socks, hats, hygiene products, blankets, snacks, and water. The kids are thrilled to see their generosity in action around town, exclaiming, “Look, they’re using the blanket I gave them!” It’s powerful to see the kids take pride in the impact they have on a neighbor in need.

Ultimately, it’s you – our friends, donors, and neighbors – that enable us to go the extra mile for our kids, like giving every new arrival a blanket embroidered with their name. It’s important to us that every child feels your generosity every day in the care they receive and the attention of our staff. Following your example, they learn the importance and impact of caring for others in the Home and the surrounding community.
Hephzibah After-School participants pack 100 winter essentials kits for the unhoused around the community.
We hope you’ll be inspired to give what you can monthly and continue to set that example for our youth across all of our programs. Whether your donation is large or small, you’re helping unlock the hearts of our children with empathy that spreads as our kids grow up and the families we serve reunite. We’re proud to demonstrate your generosity in the care we provide to our families and children every single day.
