Executive Director Merry Beth Sheets Interviewed on WGN with Hope Houses

Hephzibah Executive Director, Merry Beth Sheets, helping out at Hope Houses Workshop

Hephzibah’s Executive Director, Merry Beth Sheets, was interviewed by Chicago’s WGN news station on May 6 as part of it’s “Around Town” segment featuring Hephzibah partner, Hope Houses Workshop.

While in the workshop, Merry Beth helped silk-screen a toy that teaches shoe-tying skills.

Hope Houses Workshop is a family business that grew out of a garage and a desire to help boost imagination and self-esteem for children without forever families.

“Our family built one dollhouse in the garage for a unknown young girl for Christmas in 2011,” says Steve Lefko of Hope Houses. Over the next five years, the number of dollhouses grew and Hephzibah helped us find children to receive them. Hephzibah does so many things for children with the toughest stories of neglect and abuse in Illinois, and Hephzibah Home was a natural partnership for us.”
