Heart of Gold Ball Dreams Big

The 2018 Heart of Gold Ball was a celebration of big hearts and big dreams, as more than 350 guests helped Hephzibah raise over $270,000 to make the dreams of the nearly 1,000 children, and families served annually a reality. Hephzibah’s new executive director, Merry Beth Sheets, invited guests to “Dream with Us,” sharing examples of hope, possibility and a bright future for children that is free of abuse, neglect and trauma.

Held Saturday, March 3, in the stunning skyline loft space of Bridgeport Art Center, guests dined on a spectacular meal prepared and served by Paramount Events, danced the night away to the popular group Maggie Speaks, and participated in an exciting live auction for spectacular trips, event tickets and adventures, and a silent auction featuring dozens of items, services and excursions.

In addition to sharing her reflections on her first several months at Hephzibah, Merry Beth presented the Heart of Gold Award to Retail Properties of America (RPAI) and the Heart of the Home Award to Susan Ellefson and The Peninsula Hotel – Chicago.

Hephzibah also extends are sincere thanks to our generous sponsors who helped make the event possible, and to our outstanding Gala Committee including co-chairs Cam Niederman and Maria Garvey, and Emily Carroll, Christina Ewing, Kim Green, Jaclyn Hogan, Kathy Malpede, Sarah Roberts, Donna Rolf, Kim Stolz and Jen Weaver, who attended to every detail of the evening. It was a night to remember!
