Celebrating the Gifts of Mary and Bill DiSomma
There is no limit to the generosity and caring spirit of Mary and Bill DiSomma and Hephzibah is thrilled to present these heartfelt philanthropists and caring community members with its 2021 Heart of Gold Award. The award is presented each year to honor individuals, organizations or corporations that have enhanced the well-being of disadvantaged children at the local or national level.
The DiSomma’s have graciously and quietly supported Hephzibah for many years, helping us completely transform outdated spaces at Hephzibah Home into beautiful, bright, welcoming rooms so that the spaces feel more homelike and special.
In addition, Mary recently published a cookbook, A Gift of Cookies, which is raising financial support and bringing national media attention to Hephzibah and our work with children and families.
“If Hephzibah wrote a book, we’d call it A Gift of the DiSommas,” says Merry Beth Sheets, Hephzibah’s Executive Director.
“Mary has become an ambassador for Hephzibah speaking honestly and openly about her care for our work and the children that we serve. We are grateful for her passion and partnership, and of course the children just love her delicious cookie recipes!”
