Summer Camp Volunteer (14+)
Summer Camp Volunteers are on-site volunteers at our Summer Day Care Program at Lincoln Elementary School in Oak Park from June 16th to August 8th. As a Summer Camp Volunteer, your role is to be a friend and positive role model to the children in the day care program. You will help with arts and crafts, play games, read or teach the child a new game and assist staff where necessary.
- Must be at least 14 years of age at the start of volunteering
- Must complete volunteer process (application and interview).
- Training will be provided by Volunteer Manager and/or day care site supervisor
Qualifications Sought:
- Reliability, caring and desire to make a difference
- Flexible to adapt to the children’s special needs
- Flexible schedule
Time Frame: Summer day care opens June 16th and runs Mondays-Fridays between 9am-5pm until August 8th. Timing is flexible but we ask you to commit to at least one day/week for 1-3 hours for at least 4 weeks. Maximum of 2 days a week of volunteering for 3 hours each day.
Supervision: Day Care Site Supervisor along with day care staff
Join an Auxiliary Board
Become an auxiliary board member to help raise awareness about Hephzibah’s mission.
After School Volunteer (13+)
After School volunteers serve on-site in our after school program located in Oak Park District 97 elementary schools. As a friend and positive role model, they will help with homework, play games and assist staff.
Heartmate (21+)
Heartmate mentors make a long-term commitment to spend time with a child living in Hephzibah Home playing games, doing art projects, playing outside and other fun activities.
Helpmate (13+)
Helpmates support Hephzibah by volunteering with one-time projects, annual events, special events or whenever extra hands are needed.
Homework Helpers
Homework Helpers assist in the After-School Academy for Hephzibah Home residents. These volunteer tutors read, help with homework and engage the children in creative play. The main goal is to help the children complete their homework, and they also provide a place where learning and reading are shared and enjoyed.
Corporate, Business, Foundation, or Community Partner
This highly successful program offers corporations, businesses, foundations and organizations a valuable opportunity to raise their visibility in the community while boosting employee or member morale and fostering a culture of teamwork and civic responsibility. Our partners can choose from a wide variety of activities with the children living in our group homes or suggest their own activities or projects.
